Neils door repair .

The door was fairly easy to remove.
I pulled out rubber closing strip inside caravan.
I removed insert covering screws outside, then removed the screws,
for screws that wouldn't turn, i ground slots into heads and used a flat blade
screwdriver to unscrew them, it was then just a case of gently easing out the door.

Door frame removed.

I found the frame was rotten all around.

The floor was also rotten .

As was the batten above the door.

Once all the rotten wood was removed, i set about cutting new frame pieces to size.
All the corners were drilled out and dowels inserted, to join them.
I put door and frame back into hole 3 times to make sure all was ok.
I applied sikaflex to the frame and slid into place, then the original plastic corners were refitted.

Then i applied mastic tape all around the clean door frame.
Because the caravan has moulded shapes in aliminum i put sikaflex around opening.
There's the new door frame in place.

New floor section, glued and screwed.

Notes, make sure you leave another way into the caravan until the door is completely refitted.

Hope this is of help to anyone considering a door frame reseal.
